Location: Flexible and in any state where the firm has an office.

Position Summary: 
The Senior Conflicts Analyst is responsible for the timely day-to-day analysis of conflict and new client/matter requests, as well as conducting corporate affiliate research. Responsibilities shall also encompass performing similar conflict checks relating to the activities of the Firm’s attorneys and lateral candidates, ensuring proper coding of clients, matters and related parties and soliciting detailed descriptions of the nature of the work being proposed. This role is also responsible for providing training to new staff and supporting special projects.

Essential Functions Include:
• Review New Business Intake requests to ensure that data is accurate and complete. Use internal and external resources to ascertain the nature of an entity's role in a particular matter, and engage in discussions with lawyers and/or secretaries to gather information and/or clarification as needed.  
• Complete conflict of interest searches for all New Business Intake requests; including preparing and summarizing reports for effective conflicts clearance.
• Conduct exhaustive corporate research on all related parties and affiliates, ensuring a thorough conflict search is performed for each party. 
• Evaluate relationships between companies and individuals and incorporate those relationships into the conflicts database.
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of firm policy and department procedures regarding case captions, engagement letters, and outside counsel guidelines. 
• Assist in all aspects of the NBI department operations inclusive of administrative tasks to maintain the integrity of the Firm's conflicts database.
• Assign new matter numbers, ensure that all waiver and engagement letters are being collected and assist in the implementation of ethical walls as necessary.
• Respond to all inquiries made by secretaries and attorneys relating to intake and conflicts.  
• Stay current with best industry practices and new developments in the area of conflicts of interest and risk management.  
• Conduct training for new NBI staff.
• Assume any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Prior Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant information management or legal studies discipline is required.  Minimum of 5 years' experience in conducting legal research.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze information. Including ability to compile, review, filter, synthesize, and determine logical conclusions or recommendations based on data and information which is varied in content and format.
• Advanced internet skills, and exceptional attention to detail.  
• Previous experience in a law firm, professional services or consulting firm in processing new business and/or conflicts of interest is strongly desired.  
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with personnel at all levels to converse about conflicts of interest issues, and department procedures.
• Exhibit professional work ethic, initiative and customer service.   
• Familiarity with industry leading Intake and Conflicts systems.  
• Experience with CMS/Aderant and Intapp Open preferred. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.  
• Ability to work with tight deadlines and to provide off hours (evenings, weekends and holiday) to support projects and escalated issues, as needed.
