Position Summary:
The Docket Specialist is responsible for the timely, day-to-day calendaring of case activity into the firm’s electronic docket system as well as processing e-filing requests.  Additional duties include, but are not limited to, court case file research and advising Case Teams on court processes and procedures.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 
1. Entering deadlines into the firm’s electronic docketing program and applying rules-trigger technology where appropriate.   
2. Generating reports and provide case information from the courts or the firm’s electronic docket system to Case Teams.
3. Providing court processes and procedural information to Case Teams.
4. Performing court case research.
5. Demonstrate a complete understanding of firm policy and department procedures regarding docket support.
6. Respond to all inquiries made by secretaries and attorneys relating to Docket
7. Assist with other docket-related projects/assignments to facilitate cross-office support.
8. Other related responsibilities as needed.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum 2 years litigation docketing experience.  
3. Demonstrated ability to review and interpret court rules.
4. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to draw accurate conclusions from complex sets of information. 
5. Advanced internet skills with exceptional attention to detail.
6. Working knowledge of federal and state court processes and procedures.  
7. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. 
8. Excellent professional work ethic, initiative, and customer service.   
9. Exposure to/knowledge of rules-based (trigger) docket technology.
10. Experience with electronic filings in both Illinois state court and federal courts (Chicago Office only). 
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
12. Ability to work within tight deadlines and provide off hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) support if needed.
