Description

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is seeking a Business Development Coordinator to join our growing Marketing & Business Development team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the firm’s strategic growth by supporting key business development initiatives across practice areas. The Business Development Coordinator will work closely with attorneys, business development managers, and other firm professionals to execute high-impact marketing and client development efforts.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality work that supports client engagement and market visibility.

Location: Fully remote; candidates must reside in one of the following states: AZ, CA, DC, FL, IL, IN, LA, MA, MN, MS, MO, NJ, NY, PA, RI, TX, or WI

 

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal & Pitch Support

  • Assist in the development and execution of RFPs, pitches, and client presentations, ensuring alignment with firm messaging and client needs.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and BD managers to identify and tailor relevant content for proposals.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., research, finance, practice management) to gather data and insights for business development materials.
  • Track outcomes and maintain records of pitch activity to inform future strategy.

Practice Group & Industry Support

  • Provide day-to-day support for practice groups, including sponsorships, presentations, and client outreach initiatives.
  • Manage experience capture for practice groups and industry teams for internal and external purposes, including legal directory submissions.

Event & Campaign Coordination

  • Support planning and execution of webinars, conferences, sponsorships, and speaking engagements, including logistics and on-site support when appropriate.
  • Assist with internal and external events that enhance client engagement and attorney visibility.

Content & Collateral Management

  • Maintain and update marketing collateral such as brochures, one-pagers, PowerPoint decks, attorney bios, and experience lists, ensuring consistency with brand standards.
  • Support the production of newsletters and targeted communications to clients and prospects.

Client & Market Intelligence

  • Assist in the creation of targeted contact lists and outreach strategies for client development efforts.
  • Help maintain the firm’s experience database and practice-specific deal lists to support marketing and BD initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant coursework or internships in marketing, communications, or business a plus.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in marketing, business development, or proposals, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with marketing databases such as InterAction is a plus.
  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with business development and proposal processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to producing polished, professional work.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
