Consumer Financial Services- Foreclosure Paralegal
Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, a national law firm, currently has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a Foreclosure Paralegal with the option to work out of our Miami or Ft. Lauderdale office. We offer competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package.
Position Summary:
Our Miami office is seeking an experienced Consumer Financial Services Paralegal with experience as a foreclosure paralegal who will perform a variety of duties including e-filing, interacting with courts and preparing documents for attorneys according to established policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- E-File in both state and federal court systems.
- Draft transmittal letters.
- Draft Tables of Authority and Contents.
- Prepare initial discovery, i.e., interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admissions.
- Prepare initial drafts of motions for summary judgment, motions to discontinue.
- Prepare draft responses to discovery, including document productions and corresponding privilege logs.
- Conduct investigation of property records and facts as requested by attorneys.
- Prepare, review, format and cite check legal documents such as notices, consents, stipulations, affidavits, motions, briefs and pleadings.
- Prepare exhibits, including trial exhibits.
- Redact confidential information.
- Conduct legal research regarding procedural rules.
- Conduct SCRA searches.
Qualifications and Prior Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred; Additionally, three years of foreclosure experience is required. Only applicants with this experience will be considered.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word software.
- E-Filing experience in both state and federal court systems.
- Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs.
- Listens and seeks clarification; responds well to questions.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
- Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail.
- Looks for ways to improve and promote quality.
