Description

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP,  a national law firm, currently has an excellent part-time opportunity for paralegal interns. Our Ft. Lauderdale office is seeking 2 temporary interns currently enrolled in the college’s paralegal program, with an anticipated program completion date by May 2021. This is for a 6-month, part-time (no more than 25 hours/week) paralegal internship. Hours/days are flexible as long as they fall within Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

You will gain experience with:

Trial preparation, summation and PowerPoint;

Complex litigation, medical malpractice, construction, products liability;

Review and management of case files;

Preparing initial discovery, i.e., interrogatories, request for production, request for admissions;

Journaling deadlines for responses and monitoring for timeliness;

Preparing draft responses to discovery;

Preparing deposition summaries;

Preparing legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, chronologies, agreements, depositions and/or trial binders for use by Attorneys;

Investigating facts as requested by attorneys; and

Indexing and filing original legal documents.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent and be enrolled in the colleges paralegal studies program with an anticipated completion date no later than June 2020

Computer Skills: Must have working knowledge of internet software; Excel spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word software.
