Position Summary:
As a member of our IT Operations team, we are seeking a talented and creative Full Stack Developer to play a key role in shaping our technological landscape. You will be responsible for the entire development lifecycle, from designing user-friendly interfaces to building robust back-end systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing innovative solutions for our client portals, internal applications, and integrations with legal research databases.
Essential Functions Include:
1. Design, develop, and implement web applications using a variety of front-end and back-end technologies.
2. Collaborate with designers and internal stakeholders to translate requirements into functional and user-friendly applications.
3. Develop and maintain clean, well-documented, and secure code.
4. Write and execute unit tests to ensure code quality and functionality.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to web applications.
6. Maintain and contribute to a version control system (e.g., Git) for code repository management, including effective branching strategies, pull requests, code review practices and documentation.
7. Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to automate code building, testing, and deployment.
8. Design and implement database structures to store and manage application data.
9. Integrate with third-party APIs, including legal research databases.
10. Stay current with emerging web development technologies and best practices.
11. Deploy and maintain web applications on a secure server environment.
12. Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
13. Work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
14. Communicate clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical audiences.
15. Adhere to all company coding standards and security protocols.
16. Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
Qualifications and Prior Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.
3. Strong proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
4. Solid understanding of back-end development concepts and experience with server-side programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, .NET).
5. Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
6. Familiarity with web development APIs, legal industry specific technologies and APIs (e.g., legal research databases, legal case management systems) and integration techniques.
7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
8. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Familiarity with security best practices for legal data and applications (e.g., data encryption, access control).
11. An understanding of legal terminology and workflows would be a plus.
