Senior Docket Specialist

Location: At any of the following office locations: Tampa, FL; Miami, FL; Ft Lauderdale, FL; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, a national law firm, currently has an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a Senior Docket Specialist to provide regional support to Hinshaw offices. We offer competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package plus a 35 hour work week.

Position Summary: 

This position is responsible for supporting the litigation and bankruptcy practice groups within the Firm. The candidate must be able to work well under pressure and possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills. The candidate must also have the ability to respond to changing demands, be self-motivated, and work both independently as well as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review documents and utilize CompuLaw to generate deadlines.
  • Use internal and external resources to ascertain correct case information.
  • Interact with personnel from multiple departments at various levels in the Firm.
  • Fully understand bankruptcy, litigation, and the appellate processes and rules.
  • Conduct research as needed.
  • Assist in training new docket staff on department policies, procedures, and software systems.
  • Lead special projects as needed.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years prior docket experience with a rule-based calendaring system (CompuLaw, CourtAlert, eDockets).
  • Advanced working knowledge of federal, state, appellate, and bankruptcy rules.
  • Detail oriented, extremely organized, and able to prioritize tasks in a high pressure environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with personnel at all levels.
  • Excellent professional work ethic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
