Description
Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, a leading national law firm, is seeking a Legal Secretary with at least five years of experience performing secretarial and administrative duties within a legal office/law firm environment. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and exceptional client service.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Performs a variety of duties for one partner and one associate. Litigation experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Knowledge of courts, E-Filing, time entry (Carpe Diem), Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Types, edits and files (at times composes) all correspondence, including letters, memoranda, pleadings, and other documents.
- Opens new files, checks conflicts of interest, maintains all client and general files.
- Communicates effectively with administrative support by apprising of deadlines, attorney travels plans, etc.
- Work with Billing Department and clients regarding attorneys’ bills.
- Maintains professional appearance and attitude; maintains good public relations with clients; retains confidentiality of attorney-client relationship.
- Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- 5+ years of litigation experience.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Attention to detail.
- Requires typing speed of 65 words per minute.
- Knowledge and experience of relevant software applications, word processing, etc.
